About Us
| Lanier Singles 40+ Social Club (Lanier Singles) is an organization for men and women age 40+ who are single and are looking for new friends, companionship, and good clean fun. Lanier Singles is a great way to meet friends who are compatible with your values, interests, and hobbies. Lanier Singles is NOT a matchmaking organization. We do require that you be single, widowed, or legally divorced before you join. If you are in the process of a divorce, please consult with the President before applying for membership. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun atmosphere to meet other singles through a variety of activities which include dinner parties, cookouts, picnics, boating and swimming, hiking, traveling, bowling, movies, and many more. We dance at the American Legion on Riverside Drive in Gainesville every Friday night from 9-12 PM. Just look for us on the left side of the dance floor when you enter. We meet every Tuesday night at 6:30 PM for dinner. The first Tuesday is reserved for members only. The second Tuesday is reserved for newcomers and is held at Fire Mountain on Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville. We suggest that you attend this meeting prior to joining Lanier Singles. The newcomers meeting is where we welcome prospective members and answer any questions you may have. It is a great opportunity for you to meet our members. The third and fourth Tuesdays are fellowship meetings for everyone with no scheduled agenda. Dues for Lanier Singles are $30.00 per year, payable when you join, and are renewable a year from the month you join. Funds generated through dues cover the cost of printing and mailing the calendar/newsletter; paper products, meat, and other items for picnics, cookouts, and parties; office supplies; cards and/or flowers, and other items voted on by the membership. Upon receipt of a signed Application for Membership and $30.00, you will be given a copy of the by-laws and a current calendar of information. Each month, thereafter, we will send you the calendar and newsletter either via the post office or e-mail. We look forward to having you as a member of our group.
